RCPS Needs Volunteer Peer Support Providers to help support those in our community.
While we are working to establish ourselves as an organization, these are the programs and services we are currently focusing on providing to our clients and community. While we work on developing our team, these services will be limited. However, we will still provide support, care, and help to those seeking it with what capacity we can offer. Thank you for your interest in Riverside County Peer Support.
Our peer mentorship program is designed to match trained Peer Support Providers with our clients to build a relationship of trust, where you can work one on one towards successful recovery of your mental health.
Clients can get caring one on one support from their peer mentor by working with you on self-care strategies, coping skills and tools, wrap plans, checking in with each other, developing safety plans, getting helpful reminders, and working together towards recovery.
Our Peer Support Providers are peers with lived experience with mental health and life challenges and have completed our comprehensive 12-week training course.
One area of our mission is to promote and create awareness and safety within ourselves and our communities that we live in. Two critical objectives for accomplishing this is to work toward destigmatising mental health within ourselves and within our communities, the other is eliminating barriers for equitable access to mental health support.
Our, Community Education, mission is to provide training, workshops, and information to our community. We hope to work with law enforcement agencies, schools, hospitals, and other agencies to provide mental health training facilitated by peers with lived experience to help eliminate stigma and promote and create awareness and safety.
One of our goals at RCPS in alignment with our mission and values is to host and facilitate peer lead support groups.
Initially we plan to provide the following support group
Depression & Anxiety Support Group (8 openings available for group in Murrieta starting on March 6th 2022 - Sign Up Here.)

Our Hospital Follow Up Program is designed to work with you after you have been discharged from the hospital after recently attempting suicide. A trained Peer Provider can work with you one on one to provide immediate support and care during your recovery.
Your Peer Provider can help by:

Help you develop collaborative safety plans
Help you with coping skills and strategies
Provide you with helpful resources
Help bridge care between you and other providers for continued support
Recovering and healing from a recent suicide attempt can be a lot to handle; our mission and goal is to lend a hand of support and strength until you get back on your feet.
