RCPS Needs Volunteer Peer Support Providers to help support those in our community.
Our organization was founded on December 12th, 2021; by our Director Liam, who believes that peer and community mental healthcare is critically vital and an important need in our community encompassing Riverside County. All people need equitable, sustainable, desirable, organized, and effective programs, services, and support to maintain positive mental and emotional health. Our mission and goals are to provide that free of charge to anyone seeking support,
Our organization is still developing, and we are working productively to put finishing touches on our website and formulating our comprehensive training course. As we move forward our current steps are connecting and forming collaborative partnerships with individuals, other organizations and agencies to network and create an awareness of who we are and what we do; and to share resources and tools to provide the best available services to our clients.
While there are multitudes of clinical mental health resources and many community mental health resources that exist, there is disparity and many barriers of equitable and sustainable access to those resources. Everyone needs access to mental health support, and everyone needs to be heard and validated.
RCPS is and always will be a public nonprofit organization and currently while we are in our infancy and development, we do not at this time have a sustainable operating budget and all expenses are covered through Liam's personal finances. In the future we aim to have a sustainable operating budget from government funding, community partnerships, donations, grants, and other fundraising events. Having a sustainable operating budget will allow us to maintain our website and online platform, purchase chat and phone services to communicate with our clients and our partners, to have RCPS events, and to purchase supplies and equipment that we need to fulfill our mission.
With peers, allies, community organizations and agencies coming together we can create a monumental foundation for equitable and sustainable mental health support that is accessible for all.
RCPS is a Mission and Values First Organization and all of our objectives, goals, decisions will be made in alignment with our Mission and Values. As such any idea that we have or decision that we may make, we should always first ask ourselves: Is it in alignment with our Mission and Values?
