Your privacy is important, and it is within our values of implicit and mutual respect that we engage in the practice of adhering to respecting your privacy. We are committed to ensuring that any confidential information shared with our organization and team members is secure and protected.
This means that your information or anything you share with us will not be shared with anyone outside of our organization or our partners unless explicit consent is given by you unless we are required to by law. See below.
In the event that we learn your information is ever breached we will notify you immediately following discovery and we will notify the appropriate authorities.
**Please note that while we will strictly adhere to our confidentiality statement; we currently do not have the infrastructure to be HIPAA compliant at this time, and this note will be updated to reflect future changes.
While we are not a licensed mental health organization we still fall under purview of legal requirements and obligations to report the following as the scope of our mission and work is providing peer mental health support and services to members of the public.
Our organization will adhere to mandated reporting laws as follows:
We care about your safety and the safety of all people.
Mandated reporting is our obligation to report to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services or Law Enforcement in the event that information is shared with us about the physical, mental, sexual, or financial abuse or the neglect of minor children, elderly individuals, and disabled dependents.
We are also required by law to protect individuals when we learn of credible and actionable homicidal intent or grievous bodily harm, and we may report to appropriate agencies or individuals' pertinent information pertaining to such intent.
We understand that having an emotional crisis, having suicidal thoughts, and that your pain and suffering can be intense and overwhelming. We also know that there are valid and normal reasons for having thoughts of suicide, and that those reasons matter. As an organization, a part of our mission is to help support you while you are experiencing crisis or approaching crisis.
We aim to help support individuals using the least invasive methods possible. We will make every effort to help support you within our absolute capacity. In the event that our support is not sufficient enough, we will attempt to reach out to other resources, organizations, and agencies to get you the support that you need.
