RCPS Needs Volunteer Peer Support Providers to help support those in our community.
All Riverside County Peer Support volunteer staff members must fill out a release of liability waiver before volunteering with our organization and providing services to our clients. We have provided this release of liability waiver form digitally for your convenience. For questions regarding this release of liability waiver please contact our director.
Please read carefully! Upon submission, this is a legal acknowledgement of the following:
This Release and Waiver of Liability (the “Release”) is executed on DATE and TIME listed below, by NAME listed below (the “Volunteer”) in favor of Riverside County Peer Support, a California nonprofit organization, and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”).
The Volunteer desires to work as a volunteer for Riverside County Peer Support. and engage in the activities related to being a volunteer (the “Activities”). The Volunteer understands that the Activities may include providing services to our clients, working with members of the community, working in collaboration with other organizations and agencies, transporting clients, using communications software and equipment, assisting with physical labor, providing client customer service, collecting and distributing materials including food, and other activities associated with our work.
The Volunteer hereby freely, voluntarily, and without duress executes this Release under the following terms: Read each term carefully and fully.
In consideration of Volunteer’s participation as a volunteer for Riverside County Peer Support, and Riverside County Peer Support's agreement to permit Volunteer to engage in activities with Riverside County Peer Support and the individuals it services, Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless the Released Parties and their successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from Volunteer’s Activities with Riverside County Peer Support.
Volunteer understands that this Release discharges the Released Parties from any liability or claim that the Volunteer may have against the Released Parties with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from Volunteer’s Activities with Riverside County Peer Support, including, but not limited to, any liability or claim arising from or relating to the negligence of the Released Parties.
Volunteer also understands that the Released Parties does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability insurance in the event of injury or illness.
Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge the Released Parties from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection with the Volunteer’s Activities with Riverside County Peer Support.
The Volunteer understands the Activities include work that may be hazardous to the Volunteer, including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, carrying, loading and unloading, traveling and commuting. Volunteer hereby expressly and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm in the Activities and releases the Released Parties, from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the Activities.
The Volunteer understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by Riverside County Peer Support, Riverside County Peer Support does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for any Volunteer. Each Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medical or health insurance coverage.
The volunteer understands that Riverside County Peer Support does not currently carry or maintain liability insurance. This message will be updated to reflect future changes.
The Volunteer understands that Riverside County Peer Support does not permit or condone any form of misconduct or criminal behavior and actions. The Volunteer understands that if you the Volunteer commit misconduct or criminal behavior that your relationship with (us) Riverside County Peer Support will be terminated upon discovery of such misconduct or criminal behavior. The Volunteer also understands that (we) Riverside County Peer Support will cooperate with law enforcement and the judicial courts in the event that you commit any such misconduct or criminal behavior.
The volunteer also agrees to release us of any claims, lawsuits, or demands from any event that you the Volunteer commit any such misconduct or criminal behavior. You also agree that as a result of any misconduct and or criminal behavior committed by you the Volunteer, you will be held liable and accountable for bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, property damage, or financial loss to (us) Riverside County Peer Support or any third party involved including clients, partners, other organizations and agencies, and any individual.
Volunteer does hereby grant and convey unto Riverside County Peer Support all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images, video, audio, or other media made by Riverside County Peer Support during the Volunteer’s Activities with Riverside County Peer Support, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs, video, audio, or other forms of media.
Volunteer expressly agrees that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of California, and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Volunteer agrees that in the event that any clause or provision, or portion of any clause or provision, of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release, which shall continue to be enforceable.
This release shall remain valid and effective for all Activities engaged in by Volunteer unless Volunteer revokes the release by providing written notice to Riverside County Peer Support. Volunteer agrees to be fully bound by this electronic release upon submission to Riverside County Peer Support. Volunteer understands that the release of liability waiver terms may be changed at any time, and you will be required to sign the new and most current version of our release of liability waiver. You also understand that you may be required to sign paper copies of this release of liability waiver.
