Our initial training course when complete will be a steppingstone in peer support and mental health training. Over time we will expand the training course with additional information, tools, and resources as they become available and relevant.
One of our goals is to provide thorough and detailed content that encompasses as much Peer Support and Mental Healthcare knowledge, skills, tools, and resources as possible. To do this we look at as many other training programs and curricula that are available; to design an effective, evidence based, and complete training course that we hope to create as a national standard. Our training course includes peer support and mental health core competencies and an array of additional mental health topics including understanding mental health challenges through the lens of peers and topics focusing on mental health justice and equity. We appreciate and respect other training programs and their respective agencies and organizations for their work and their advancement of Peer Mental Health Support.
